It also includes business and financial papers, photographs, clippings and genealogical records of three generations of the related Conrad and Erskine families of South Bend, Indiana, Omaha, Nebraska, and Charlottesville, Va. particularly Ralph Erskine Conrad, Albert Russell Conrad, Janet Erskine Edhelm Conrad, Ralph Emmett Conrad a business man, Albert Russel Erskine a corporation president, Albert Edholm a jeweler, and Susie Erskine Edholm. Events discussed include the divorce of Janet and Ralph Conrad, Albert and Ralph Conrad's school days in Tucson, Arizona, Albert Conrad's mental illness, Ralph Conrad's World War II service and death in the Philippines, and the estate settlement of Albert Erskine, president of the Studebaker corporation. Of particular interest is a brief history of Studebaker, compiled by Erskine. There are two routine letters from Calvin Coolidge and Harry Flood Byrd and a letter (carbon) to Herbert Clark Hoover from Erskine congratulating him on his 1928 victory.
